Michaeli and Andrew -An Island Hideaway

The Proposal: Andrew proposed while on holidays in our hometown visiting family and friends. It was such a surprise when Andrew got down on one knee in front of everyone at a friends dinner celebration and popped the big question. Andrew presented a beautiful princess cut engagement ring designed by Facet 58.

Wedding Stationery: We had our grey rose wedding invitations designed by Andrew Mandagilo a Graphic Designer from AKP Media in Sydney. We then had them printed by Scarbe Invitations + Papers. I had our place cards done up by Chatterbox Collections. The wedding edition has a clever mix of light topics and thoughtful questions, inspired conversation starters will get the celebration started. This really helps out as weddings are always a mix of old friends and new acquaintances, and it’s not always easy for people to really connect with each other. Jenn was an absolute pleasure to have do our place cards. Her professional approach made it a smooth and easy process.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception Venue: We were married at An Island Hideaway, a four-acre private paradise hidden away in the beautiful National Park bush land of South Stradbroke Island. We said, “I do” in their gorgeous open air chapel only metres away from the water edge. Its was decorated with large white fluffy roses on the pews and an assortment of pink roses petals down the aisle. We were lucky enough to be married by a close friend Tiffany Egen, which gave a personal feel to our wedding ceremony. We loved the idea of having our wedding venue all at the one location. The island hideaway team has the sequence of the day free flowing with no stress. Our guests were served drinks and canapés at the islands halfway bar immediately after the ceremony while we were getting our wedding shots done. An Island Hideaway provides a buffet style dinner with many reasonable wedding packages available. All of our guests have made comments that it was the best wedding venue and the service provided by the team at an island hideaway was exceptional.

Wedding Music: Our Bridal Waltz, You and Me by Lifehouse was played by one of our great friends Scotty Davey. He made this a memorable and heartfelt moment. Decorations/Theme: I had a classic elegant white theme for my reception, which gave a romantic feel to the venue.

Wedding Flowers: Kyla from Divine Wedding Flowers did an amazing job with our flowers. Our bouquets were a posy style made up roses and lisianthus in vintage colours including ivory, mushroom pink and bright pink. The bouquets were finished off with satin ribbons and pearls. Kyla also did an exceptional job at the table arrangements for my reception. Each table had a small arrangement of pink and ivory cabbage roses.

Wedding Dress and Suits: My gown was from Strictly Bridal and bridesmaids were dressed by Carla Zampatti. Andrew and his Groomsmen suits were by Industrie.

Wedding Shoes and Accessories: My shoes were soft white open toe from Mollini, and my Bridesmaids were nude patent shoes by Nine West.

Wedding Hair and Makeup: If anyone can turn my words into a masterpiece its Julie and Tamara from Allure Professional Hair and Makeup. My trial for my hair by Julie was instantly perfect. I described to Julie what I would like and she whipped it up in what felt like 5 minutes. Tamara has a natural talent at makeup for weddings. My bridesmaids and my mum couldn’t be happier with their makeup and they enjoyed every moment of getting ready, as Allure Hair and Makeup were so fantastic. I would recommend them to bring beauty to your day.

Wedding Photography: From the moment we met with Photographic Art we knew that they were the ones they were going to capture our beautiful love story. We felt an instant connection with both of them. We wanted to ensure we had nothing but the best for our photography. Photographic Art were completely committed to capturing the best shots possible and they did exactly that. On the day they were so professional in their approach. My bridal party couldn’t complement them enough on what a fantastic job they did, making sure everything ran to schedule but also making it lots of fun. Even when it rained they got completely drenched as they are committed to you and your images. We cannot speak highly enough about Photographic Art and the way they work together as a team. No one could measure up to the stunning imagery they captured of our wedding day.

Wedding Cinematography: We choose Geoff Schatzel from Motion Art. Geoff’s passion and enthusiasm shines through in the work he produces. On the day Geoff was hardly noticed but found a way to capture every moment. Geoff will spend hours and hours on end to make sure that he delivers a masterpiece. If your looking for someone that is completely dedicated to helping you relive each and every moment of your wedding day for years and years, then Geoff is the one! His work is Amazing and we believe that he is the best at what he does.

Wedding Honeymoon: We went to Thailand for our Honeymoon. Our highlight of our Honeymoon was Intercontinental Saumi Baan Taling Ngam, which means ‘home on a beautiful cliff’, which it was exactly that. Words cannot describe how amazing this luxury resort was for our Honeymoon.
