Dee and Guy – Arundel Hills Wedding
Wedding Photography Gold Coast – Photographic Art
Proposal: Guy had taken me for a holiday on the Sunshine Coast and one of our stops was beautiful 1770. We’d gone for a walk to the headland when he got down on one knee and proposed to me with a stunning engagement ring. It was a complete surprise!
How you met: I’d joined the local women’s soccer team and met Guy at one of the training sessions. We exchanged phone numbers and started chatting to one another.
Wedding Stationery: We picked an invitation package from Breeze Invitations. We loved their simple yet elegant designs, which really suited what we were after. We chose a dark grey and pearl ivory combination, which featured a small ribbon detail on the pocket envelope.
Wedding Ceremony: We knew that we wanted to have our ceremony and reception at one venue. When we visited the Arundel Hill Country Club, we knew right away that was where we wanted to be married. We loved the beautiful grounds and the luxurious feel inside. Isobel the Events Coordinator was really helpful throughout our planning and especially on the day of our wedding. Everything ran so smoothly. While we were having our photos taken, guests enjoyed canapés and drinks inside while overlooking the golf greens.
Wedding Celebrant: Karen Tesar who I am so grateful to have met, married us! Karen was extremely helpful and went the extra mile with everything. She helped us to pick our vows and wrote a ceremony that was unique and special to us. We chose to have our wedding rings “blessed” by family and close friends that added a really special touch to the day.
Wedding Music: Peppers Entertainment provided our music. I walked down the aisle to its Your Love by Tim McGraw and our first dance together as a married couple was to Crazy Love by Michael Buble.
Wedding Reception Venue: Our reception was also held at the Arundel Hills Country Club in the grand ballroom. It was set up exactly how we wanted and looked amazing. We chose an alternate drop three-course meal, which guests were commenting all night at how delicious it was.
Wedding Decorations/Theme: We wanted all of our theming to be timeless and classic and tie in with our colour scheme. Nikki from Style on Q listened to all of our ideas and created something that we were extremely happy with! When we entered the room it looked amazing and had such a romantic feel.
Wedding Flowers: Nikki put together all of the flowers for our bridal party too. Our bouquets were made up mainly of ivory roses with smaller spray roses and freesias blended in. My bouquet was framed with doda vine, which was also tied into our centerpieces at the reception.
Wedding Cake: Our cake was a four-tier mad hatter cake made by a friend. We chose a favorite mud cake flavor for each layer which all of the guests received in a hand made bonbonniere box.
Wedding Dress and Suits: My gown was an ivory strapless design by Flower Girl Fairy Bridal. The bridesmaids wore strapless dresses by Henry Roth, which Andrea at Andreas Bridal tailored for each one. Guy and his groomsmen were dressed by Man to Man in dark grey suits.
Wedding Shoes and Accessories: My shoes were Breanna Leigh ivory heals. My bridesmaids wore dark grey Fergie pumps.
Wedding Hair and Makeup: I chose Progressive Looks and Lou Lou Hair Design as they work very well together. I first saw them at a bridal expo where I booked in a hair and makeup trial. I was so happy, I booked them in straight away to do my wedding day. Between the two of them, they planned out the whole morning, which ran seamlessly. Everybody looked and felt gorgeous and very comfortable in their makeup. I really could not have been any happier with the amazing end results. Both Mel and Lou brought to life what I’d envisioned for my big day!
Wedding Transport: Guy and the boys arrived with a close friend in his Ford GT. I arrived with my father and bridesmaids in a gold Chevrolet Impala. It looked spectacular in our photos.
Wedding Photography: We chose Photographic Art to capture our special day. I’m so glad that we did, they did a truly amazing job! When we met with them, Guy and I both agreed straight away that we loved their relaxed yet professional style. I was over the moon when I received the proofs from our wedding, I just couldn’t stop looking through them! Photographic Art got so many fantastic shots when we didn’t even know they were snapping away. Planning our album was really a lot of fun and Ivana did a great job adding all of the special touches. Our day was so perfect and special for us and our photos really do show it. We Love, Love, Love our wedding album will be cherished for many years to come!
Honeymoon: Guy and I honeymooned in Hawaii for three wonderful weeks. We splurged and stayed at the Hilton before boarding a cruise to sail the islands for a week.
Advice: As everybody says, the day really does fly by. Relax, stay calm and enjoy this very special time. If anything goes wrong, don’t stress about it, as you’ll probably be the only person who notices. Our whole wedding day was more perfect than we could have imagined, neither of us would change a single thing!
