Amanda & Trevor – Marriot Wedding
Proposal: It was our five-year anniversary and he sent me out to get my hair done and get ready for a great night together. He took me to dinner at our favorite little Italian restaurant on the Gold Coast; we have been there for many special occasions before. After dinner we headed back to his apartment but instead of his apartment he took me to the 55th floor he had rented out for the night, with an amazing view of the Gold Coast night-lights. The room was in darkness so he told me to go in while he got the lights. To my surprise he had both of our families there together, and without waiting he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It then turned into our engagement party.
How you Met: His nephew and my best friend used to date, and one night while I was at her place they both turned up. The visits became regular, and all of used to go out as friends. Almost two years later we realized we were more than just friends to each other and have been together ever since.
Wedding Ceremony Venue: We picked The Marriott Resort and Spa in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. They recently completed an upgrade of the hotel and looked incredibly beautiful. One of its best features is the beautiful staircase, it made for a stunning entrance for me to walk down the aisle to.
Wedding Reception Venue: This too was at The Marriott Resort and Spa upstairs in their Garden Terrace room, which is huge and only having 54 attendants, gave everyone plenty of room to move. The wait staff were very attentive, food was incredible (still have guests commenting on it) and the setting was just what we wanted.
Wedding Celebrant: We had the beautiful and lovely Clarah Luxford to marry us. She was incredibly helpful with anything we needed both leading up to the wedding and on the day. We couldn’t imagine having had anyone else perform our ceremony. It was beautiful!
Wedding Flowers: we used The Marriott’s in house florist Sharron Richards. I had purple flowers with bits of white and my bridesmaids had more of the opposite
Wedding Cake: Louisa Massignani of cakesalouisa was our choice for our wedding cake. We got exactly what we asked from her without having seen it until the day. The bottom layer was a chocolate mud cake that had a crunchy wafer through it and was something no one had seen before. It was delicious!
Bridal Gown: Once I tried on my wedding dress from Brides Desire in Brisbane I knew it was the one and didn’t look at any others.
Groom and Groomsmen Suits: We hired the guy’s suits from Spurling Formal Wear on the Gold Coast.
Wedding Hair and Makeup: The girls from Allure Hair and Make Up were fantastic! It was like old friends just catching up, everything was so relaxed and the outcome was stunning. We all looked so beautiful!
Wedding Videography: Motion Art was our pick for our video an Geoff was fantastic with capturing the best moments of our day.
Wedding Photography: When I found Photographic Art online there was no one else who compared to the work they did, and it proved to be exactly that. We could not have imagined having any other photographers for our wedding day, they were absolutely amazing! They made us feel so comfortable and were just so lovely.
Honeymoon: We were lucky enough to travel to Bora Bora, Tahiti for a week and words can’t describe the most stunning place in the world! We had someone look after us 24/7 and they would have to be the friendliest people in the world. A little expensive but worth every cent, can’t wait to go back. 🙂
